Airport City - F.A.Q. Guide

Airport City - F.A.Q. Guide

Airport City is much more than your average simulator. It takes the best of two worlds in just the right proportions: the sense of adventure from airplane games, and the need to plan strategically from the city building games. If you’re starting to think that there are things beyond farming, put your farm sim on hold and start building your city with the best airport in the world! We know how plane games can become repetitive over time, so we are constantly improving this city building sim, to make our players always engaged both on the ground and in the air.

Whether you want to try out the role of an air tycoon or an airline commander, you’ll find something to love about Airport City. Build a modern international-class terminal to send an airplane to whatever corner of the world you want. Just get your plane in the air, and choose where it lands. To make your travels memorable, you can bring back rare artifacts and unique collections. See how many souvenirs can fit in one plane!

But it’s not just a flight simulator—you’ll have to apply your outstanding management skills to develop all supporting infrastructure too! Take care of an entire city next to it, to provide your airport all the required services. And if the Earth one day becomes too small for you, build a launchpad and send rockets to outer space!

If what you’re looking for in city building games is peaceful gameplay and interactions, this sim is exactly what you need. Social features are an important part of the game. You can create alliances with other players to complete joint quests and participate in competitions. Just find a fellow airline commander from a neighboring city and make your gaming experience twice as much fun! The regular updates with new models of aircraft, buildings and new destinations, will become an infinite source of entertainment.

How does the airport work? From managing runways and flights to terminals and ground control.

How do I send a plane on a flight?

1) Open the Flights menu (plane icon in the lower tool bar) to see the list of places where you can send your plane. You can also choose a plane on a Stand and look through a list of destinations available for this type of planes.
2) If your resources satisfy the requirements for the flight, tap the Fly! button next to the destination you chose. Preparations for the flight will start automatically.
3) You need only to fuel the plane and get the passengers aboard. Now you are ready for flight!

Note that for each flight you’ll need a certain type of plane, various numbers of passengers (suitcase icon) and quantities of fuel (barrel icon). Some flights require additional items as well.

How do Runways work?

Your airport can have no more than two Runways. New levels give you a chance to upgrade the Runways so that you can send any type of plane into flight. The Runway zone has two parts: Runways and bearing tracks that enable planes to move around during takeoff and landing without getting in each other’s way. If you are sending several planes into flights simultaneously, there is no need to worry: each one will take its place on a bearing track and start the voyage in its turn.

How does a Terminal work and what are the sections for?

As you upgrade your Terminal, the maximum number of passengers also increases.

A Terminal contains several sections. Each section is attached to one Stand. Sections are necessary to take care of a plane more promptly, because each Stand has its own set of service vehicles.
If you have no Terminal section near a Stand, vehicles from your centralized Service Vehicle Park will be used to take care of it.

What is a Stand?

We use Stands instead of hangars in Airport City. A Stand is a maintenance zone for planes. Here a plane waits for its flight; meanwhile the plane is refueled, takes passengers on board, and returns when the flight is over. A Stand can provide services for any type of plane, from Swallow to Condor, including both your own and your guests' planes.
Note that you’ll also need a free Stand to receive a guest plane. You can therefore leave one Stand free for guest planes or receive them on whichever Stands are free while your planes are on flights.

The number of Stands available to you depends on your level. However, note that if the Control Tower level does not allow you to purchase one more plane, you won’t be able to build another Stand either.

What do I need Control Tower for?

The Control Tower is responsible for the maximum number of active planes at your disposal. Active planes are all the planes you are using at the moment included those in flights, staying on Stands or waiting for repair. Those planes in Reserve Hangar are not counted among your active ones.

Note that if the Control Tower level does not allow you to purchase another plane, you won’t be able to build another Stand either, although the maximum number of Stands depends on your level.

Why do I need parking lots?

More passengers! Parking lots are meant to increase the maximum capacity of a Terminal. This way, if your Terminal is full and you cannot receive more passengers, you can lift the limit by building another parking lot. The parking area is situated behind the Terminal sections.

What is a Boarding Bridge

A Boarding Bridge accelerates boarding to long-range aircrafts.
